Sarasota Dolphin Research Program

Aaron Barleycorn, BS, Research Assistant

I am a field research assistant at the Chicago Zoological Society’s Sarasota Dolphin Research Program. My primary responsibilities include leading boat based dolphin photo-identification surveys, maintaining equipment, photo-identification, data entry, as well as participating in various other field projects such as: health assessments, shark tracking, and purse seining. I have been able to work with teams all over the world including: Bermuda, Argentina, and many places in the Southeast United States. I began dolphin research in 2000 at Eckerd College in St. Petersburg FL, and graduated from Eckerd with a BS in Marine Science in 2001. My research interests include conservation of threatened species, and predator-prey interactions.
