Elizabeth Berens, MS, Research Associate
I am a Research Associate with the Chicago Zoological Society’s Sarasota Dolphin Research Program, specializing in fisheries science, database management, statistics, and geographic information systems (GIS). I received my BS from Grand Valley State University (1998) and my Masters from the University of Florida (2005). I am interested in predator-prey interactions, community ecology, and sustainable fisheries. Currently, I am studying bottlenose dolphin prey distribution and abundance through purse seining, prey selectivity of bottlenose dolphins by quantitatively relating diet to available fish, and how harmful algae blooms (red tide) effect fish populations in Sarasota Bay, FL.
